Often, technology advances at a rapid rate, and it can be difficult for governments to respond with regulatory laws. One of the challenges with delayed regulations is the fact that technology companies can easily charge premium prices for their new innovative services. This was apparently the case with regards to data roaming services in the European Union, which then prompted pricing regulations to be put forward under EU law for data roaming within the EU. This has led to cheaper mobile internet costs in the EU, particularly with the introduction of the flat rate global data roaming service.

Data roaming has been rather costly in the past because of the intricacies involved. International roaming involves two carriers located in different countries. Whenever you use your mobile phone in another country, you use the services of the foreign network, and most of the costs of using this different network fall upon the subscriber.

While the EU has put some price caps on data roaming services, this area of law is still in its infancy and other countries and regions are still lacking in regulations. Therefore, it is highly important for mobile users who travel frequently to find and compare global data roaming costs.

A series of technology law suits were filed against Google previously by a woman named Bev Stayart who was very disturbed by the fact that when she Googled her name, certain results appeared that were linked to pornographic material and malware. Although courts dismissed these lawsuits, another person has just filed a lawsuit against Google over the same issue.

Alex Petrov is also quite upset that when you search for people with his name, pornographic images show up. As with the previous lawsuits, there doesn't appear to be a real legal claim here so it is unlikely to succeed, but Petrov states that Google is purposely trying to create an association between his name and offensive material. It would be helpful in cases like this if there was a standard requiring that in technology lawsuits, people had to prove that they actually understand the technology about which they are suing.

It's that time of the year again when the Law School rankings take place. For about two decades now the Yale Law School tops the list and it continues to do so this year too. The other schools without any change in the rankings are Harvard Law School, Stanford Law School, Columbia Law School and finally the University of Chicago Law School. These are the top five law schools in the same order for the second year in a row.

A new Law School which has joined the elite top 14, also known as 'T14' by everyone in the legal community is the University of Texas – Austin School of Law. It has tied with the Georgetown Law Centre for the 14th spot. The T14 are given the highest regard in the legal community.
